Intensive courses are carried out in manual vehicles only. We recommend that you pass your theory test before applying for an intensive course if you intend to take the course over a short period of time (10-20 hours). Intensive courses can be spread over a period of time to suit the learner. This is usually between 1 and 6 weeks.
All UNIQUE Driving Instructors display a green DSA (Driving Standards Agency) badge in their windscreen to prove they've completed around 12 to 18 months of training and passed their Instructor Training exam.
Before chosing a driving school, or if you're unsure about your existing instructor, check that there's a green badge in the windscreen of his or her car. This means your instructor is fully-qualified. Some driving schools place learners with a trainee instructor (displaying a pink DSA badge) and still charge full lesson rates without revealing that the instructor isn't fully qualified. This often means that the learner has to change driving schools before taking a test.
